Course description

A Level Further Mathematics is a fun and rewarding subject. It broadens your skills and promotes deeper mathematical thinking.

The skills you learn in A Level Mathematics are of great benefit in other A Level subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, Geography, Psychology, Economics and Business Studies.

Course content

Statistics focuses on collecting and analysing data and using it to make predictions. Mechanics uses maths to model and analyse the physical world around us, including the study of forces and motion.

Mechanics is particularly useful to students studying physics and engineering.

Decision Maths looks at using algorithms to find efficient solutions to real life problems. The techniques are important in business, logistics and computer science.

Mathematics  is a  versatile qualification, well-respected by employers and is a “facilitating” subject  for entry to higher education.
