Physics A Level at The Academy of St Francis of Assisi

Course description

Physics is the science of the physical world. There are few completely new topics
at either AS or A2 level that you won’t have come across at GCSE. Many Higher
Level calculation topics are simply repeated, others have calculation introduced
at AS level, while only descriptive at GCSE, AS Physics involves mechanics. We
study electricity, both circuits and how current is explained by electron motion at
atomic level. Other topics include waves (light and sound), refraction, diffraction,
interference and sound waves in musical instruments and also lens optics.

Entry requirements

Grade B in Physics or two grade B at double award Science and a grade B in maths.
