Media Studies Cambridge Level 3 Diploma at Saint Benedict, A Catholic Voluntary Academy

Course description

The Cambridge Technical in Media is an engaging and largely practical qualification that aims to develop transferable skills that are essential in the modern media workplace or for further study. The course consists of a wide range of modules which create a comprehensive and inclusive media qualification. 

Course content


You will complete five modules.  The mandatory, first unit, deals with the principles and theories of the media industries. The second unit is dedicated to digital photography and Photoshop and Lightroom image editing and students will explore these areas by researching, planning, carrying out and editing a full photo shoot. The third unit focuses on producing a print artifact (a magazine).


You will complete an additional four modules that allow you to extend and develop the skill-set acquired in Year 12. You will have the opportunity to explore additional areas including moving image and radio and sound.

Entry requirements

All Level 3 students must have 5 separate GCSE passes (A*-C), including English Language and Maths.
