Food and Beverage Service Level 2 Diploma at Highbury College
This qualification meets the needs of students who want to work front-of-house within a hospitality environment.
The Level 2 qualification is ideal if you work in the food and beverage service industry in front-of-house, or you want to move into that role or to fill in any gaps in your front-of-house skills, perhaps to advance to a more senior position.
To achieve Level 2 Diploma in Professional Food and Beverage Service you must achieve 44 credits from the mandatory units:
- Legislation in food and beverage service
- Menu knowledge and design
- Principles of beverage product knowledge
- Service of hot beverages
- Food and beverage service skills
- Handling payments
- Principles of customer service
- Investigating the hospitality and catering industry.
In addition, the qualification covers all aspects of food and beverage service. It will deliver the key skills required to ensure you have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will require of you.
Level 1 Certificate in Professional Food and Beverage Service would be an advantage.
You will be assessed by completing coursework which is related to the working practises that take place in Highbury College's Chimes Restaurant.
You will be assessed by the restaurant assessors to determine if you are demonstrating skills at pass, merit or distinction level.
On successful completion of this qualification students can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service, The Foundation Degree (FdA) in Hospitality Management or to employment in a variety of roles.
