Travel and Tourism A Level at Brooke Weston Academy

Course description

This is a two year course which enables students to gain an understanding of the travel and tourism industry. Students will develop a portfolio consisting of work based on each of the six topics listed below. Students will have an interest in the industry and the drive and motivation to complete in-depth, independently researched portfolio work.

  • Unit 1: Introducing Travel and Tourism
  • Unit 2: Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
  • Unit 3: Travel Destinations
  • Unit 4: Tourism Development
  • Unit 5: Event Management
  • Unit 6: Guided Tour

Entry requirements

Open to all students that have achieved 4 A*-C grades at GCSE.


Coursework and External Assessment

Future opportunities

As well as supporting students with an application for a higher education course specifically in travel and tourism, this qualification also gives students a strong grounding in customer service and marketing which would support an application for a business related course. The travel and tourism industry is the biggest employer worldwide, with careers ranging from events management to tour operations.
