Production Arts BTEC Level 3 Diploma (Technical Theatre & Stage Management) at Bedford College
This programme offers an excellent opportunity to develop all-round skills in set design, production, theatre management and many other areas. You will take part in production tasks, working on both small and large projects such as musical theatre performances, plays, dance shows and live music events.
During the course you will study a range of topics, including:
- Lighting and sound
- Stage management
- Set design
- Venue management.
To begin this course you will need:
- a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English, OR
- a BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts at Merit level (including Functional Skills), OR
- an equivalent Level 2 qualification.
Entry is also subject to a successful interview, where you will need to demonstrate prior experience in the field of performing arts.
This course could be free! You will be eligible if you are aged 19-24 on the 31st August of the year you are starting your course and are actively seeking employment and in receipt of a means tested benefit (such as job seekers, housing benefit, council tax benefit). Please note you will need to be able to produce evidence of the benefit in your name when you come to enrol.
On successful completion of this course you could progress on to a Higher National Diploma in Performing Arts, or attend a specialist school in your chosen are to develop your career prospects further. This qualification also attracts up to 360 UCAS points towards entry on to a degree-level course. You could also pursue employment within the performing arts industry.
An additional fee of £100 will be required to cover the cost of any trips that take may place throughout the course. You will also need to purchase clothing/uniform at a cost of £15 and personal equipment for £20.
