Spanish at Altwood CofE Secondary School

Course description

Spanish is the up and coming Modern Foreign Language. Firstly, Spanish is spoken the world over including many parts of North America and the majority of South America which makes it an ever important language in today’s world. Spain, including its islands, is an important British holiday destination and consequently, people are becoming more aware of the charms and delights of Spanish culture and language.

What both the AS and the A-level Spanish courses intend to develop within its candidates is students with a command and flair for Spanish Language and an appreciation of the culture of Spain and the Spanish world. The European Union in which we now live needs young people who not only have a command of European languages but who have an understanding of the culture of that country.

Entry requirements

A minimum of Grade B in GCSE Spanish is recommended plus 4 other GCSEs minimum grade C including English and Maths
