Hair and Beauty Core Foundation Entry Level 3 / Level 1 at Hull College Group

Course description

This course will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge in Hair & Beauty.
You will benefit from a wide range of facilities and resources as well as group support from specialist staff.

Embedded in your studies you will build on your employability skills including visits to local salons and guest speakers.

You will also complete a qualification in English and Maths.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications required, however students must demonstrate an interest in the vocation and complete the induction period.

Further information

This course can be a progression route through to VRQ and NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing but only if the candidate has applied themselves totally to the Level 1 courses.

They must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other students, Clientelle and show a mature professional attitude in both practical and theory sessions.

They will be expected to have achieved at least 85% attendance, good reports from industrial salon placements, completion of Key skills and all requirements identified in the NVQ level 1 programme

      We want you to enjoy your time at Hull College and to help you make the most of your study time and free time too. Students are able to take part in a wide range of social and recreational activities for our students to participate in when they are not studying, as well as discounts, competitions and give-aways. The College is also fortunate to have an active Student Union which hosts an annual ‘Freshers’ Fair’ for students at the beginning of the Autumn term and organises social events throughout the year.
