Chemistry - AS Level at William Hulme's Grammar School Academy

Course description

The course aims to: Stimulate your interest and enjoyment in chemistry, allow you to study chemistry in a contemporary context, develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the subject. It will enable you to gain hands-on practical skills and data analysis skills. You will appreciate how science works and its relevance beyond the laboratory. Chemists are at the forefront of new developments in plastics, medicines and textiles, in improving the quality of our food and in helping to maintain and improve our environment.

Entry requirements

GCSE Grades AB or above required in Core Science and Additional Science or GCSE Grades AB or above in Chemistry and at least one other science if taking three separate sciences at GCSE

Future opportunities

Many students go on to study A2 level Chemistry
