Wood Occupations Site Carpentry Apprenticeship Level 2 at Bedford College
This intermediate, two year apprenticeship will provide you with the introductory knowledge and ability you will need to undertake work in the carpentry industry. You will learn how to carry out site carpentry, including door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames and floor joists. Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes: you work and get paid to gain industry qualifications. This course will combine the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge and understanding gained through a College course. This Apprenticeship will take up to two years to complete.
To begin this course you must be employed full-time in a related job and be willing to attend College part-time. You also need a minimum of two GCSEs at grade D-G. Entry on to this course will also be subject to a successful interview and basic skills test.
The practical elements of this course will consist of on-going training and assessment, with an end-of-course synoptic test. The theory elements will be assessed through progress tests, assignments, unit tests and an end of course final exam.
Apprenticeships train you in the skills that employers want, so when youve finished you can carry on working, and potentially get promoted. You can also progress on to the Carpentry or Bench Joinery Level 3 or other related courses.
