French at Rushcliffe School

Course description

This course is ideal for students who are passionate about languages and keen to work hard. Students must be well-organised, enthusiastic and committed to learning new language and concepts.

Studying French at A level can lead to a degree course in French or French with a combination of other subjects such as Business or Law (joint honours degree). Languages are in demand with universities and companies nationally and the skills taught at A level will be an advantage in almost every career.

In Year 12 we visit Paris for a four day trip. The purpose of this trip is to give students an opportunity to experience French culture at first hand and to bring alive the language which they study in the classroom using the Paris Parle French Immersion Programme.

Also running in Year 12 is the cinema club where pupils are invited to join their teachers at the Broadway Cinema to view a French film at a special discount price.
