Engineering Manufacture, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering at Siemens PLC

Course description

We currently recruit around 16 apprentices a year either to our craft-level programme in Fitting, Machining, Electrical, Fabrication & Welding or to technician level in Manufacturing.

Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Lincoln Advanced Apprenticeships are workshop based (Craft) and Office based (Technician) and last for 3 ½ years.  These are predominantly Mechanical but there are some Electrical.

Both schemes last around 3 years, starting with 10 months’ training at Lincoln College, where you’ll complete an NVQ level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations. Next, there’s on-the-job training at SIT, an NVQ level 3 in various engineering disciplines and complete your technical certificate on a day release basis at college. From here, around 40% of apprentices choose to go on to complete HE courses, with our support.

For an advanced apprenticeship you should have, or be expecting a minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above including:

Other relevant higher level qualifications such as A levels, NVQs and Diplomas are required for a higher apprenticeship.
