Enterprise and Entrepreneurship BTEC Diploma Level 3 at Derwentside College

Course description

This course is suitable for anyone interested in setting up their own business, working in a business development or sales role or simply enjoys creating new ideas.  You will learn skills and knowledge to enable you to understand business finances and how a company generates income. You will have the opportunity to run your own business and develop real business ideas.

Entry requirements

  • You must attend an interview with the course leader
  • 4 GCSE’s at grade C or above or have competed Level 2 in Business or IT, with asuitable reference
  • Mature applicants will be considered with relevant experience and references
  • Must be prepared to study Functional Skills in Maths and/or English
  • 100% attendance is expected



You will be assessed through assignment work, observation, presentation and group work. You will complete tests for Functional Skills or GCSE maths and/or English

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course, you may progress to Higher Education, employment or self employment.

This course will provide good background knowledge for anyone considering opportunities in Business; Marketing; or Project Managing across all sectors; or if wanting to set up own business.
