Beauty Therapy Level 2 Apprenticeship at Buxton & Leek College

Course description

This course will provide you with a detailed knowledge and understanding of all the Level 2 treatments. The qualification gives opportunity to study a wide range of treatments which are currently used out in industry. The course comprises of 10 units that are continually assessed via practical client sessions and online exams. 

As part of the programme you will have the opportunity to take part in additional qualifications and training, for example gel nails, spray tans, ear piercing, cat walk make up and professional beauty exhibitions.

YOU’LL ALSO HAVE 

• Trips to Professional Beauty North 

• Training with Nailtiques Nail Training & Dermalogica Facials 

Students will take all 10 core units: 

• Health & Safety 

• Develop Effectiveness 

• Reception 

• Promote Treatments 

• Facial Unit 

• Eye Treatments 

• Waxing Treatments 

• Manicure 

• Pedicure 

• Make Up. 

Entry requirements

A minimum of 3-4 GCSEs grade C or above including English Language and ideally Maths or Level 1 Beauty Therapy including relevant Functional Skills qualifications.

Assessment

The programme is assessed continuously via practical assessments and online exams. There is a strong student centered approach to the course where all students are encouraged to develop confidence to learn independently.

Future opportunities

It will enable successful students to move into a career in the beauty industry. Upon completion you will be able to make informed choices regarding future employment opportunities such as: spas, salons or teaching. You can also move on to the Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy, Media-Makeup, or Nail Services courses.
