Mathematics - GCSE at Bolton Sixth Form College

Course description

GCSE Mathematics is a one-year re-sit course for students who have not obtained grade C (4).

Course content

This is a one year re-sit course with the emphasis placed on improving performance in problem areas, and examination technique. You’ll study topics in the areas of Numbers & Algebra, Geometry & Measures and Statistics & Probability. You’ll also need to demonstrate you can apply Mathematics to real life situations and demonstrate problem solving ability.

 

Entry requirements

Students will have D/3 GCSE or Numeracy Level 2.

Assessment

Examination in three papers following the Edexcel specification.

Financial information

No course fees are applicable for 16-18 year old learners who meet funding regulations.

Future opportunities

This course give you the opportunity to work for a grade 4 or higher, which is a requirement for many degree courses and useful in all careers.
