Customer Service Apprenticeship Level 2 at New College Nottingham
Apprenticeships are a great way to learn and earn at the same time. Throughout your Apprenticeship you will be supported by both your employer and a team of professional assessors from New College Nottingham.
This Apprenticeship teaches the skills needed to provide excellent customer service, and can be applied to hundreds of job roles across many different
sectors, from government to telecommunications. However, most customer service apprentices work in retail, financial services, call centres, hospitality, or sport and recreation.
Duties will vary significantly between sectors, but in most cases apprentices will complete modules relating to:
- Understanding the customer
- Handling complaints
- Managing customer enquiries via phone, email or in person
- Offering advice about products/services
- Punctuality and reliability
- Reception and administration duties
Apprentices will also complete Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT to Level 1 as well as complete a mandatory module on Employer Rights and Responsibilities.
- Be aged 16 or over
- Be in paid employment for a minimum of 30 hours per week
- Not be in full-time education or on any other training programme
- Have lived in the UK for the past three years
There are no formal entry requirements for any level, however the employer may stipulate entry qualifications when recruiting an apprentice to a particular job role.
Students will be expected to have a contract to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. This must be paid employment. However, you can still apply for this course if you are actively seeking employment, but this must be in place before you can commence the training.
As there may be different entry requirements for apprenticeships, depending on the occupational sector, all students are required to have an initial assessment test.
You'll receive regular visits to your workplace from a professional assessor who will review a portfolio of your work. You may also complete a range of written assessments as part of the qualification.
You can progress onto a Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeship or perhaps choose to study a related qualification that may be more relevant to your chosen sector. This may include retail, business administration or sales.
