Music: BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Music (Block D) at The Folkestone Academy
This course will provide good preparation if you are planning to enter employment directly in the music sector. The first of three mandatory units you will study is a music performance brief; the second is a music composition brief and the third covers professional practice in the music industry. The optional unit is a solo performance. Throughout the duration of the course you will receive an additional instrumental lesson on voice, guitar, piano, or percussion.
This course comprises four units, three of which are mandatory and two of which are assessed externally.

GCSE at Grade 5+ or BTEC/NCFE at Merit+ in a music- related discipline, as well as Grade 4 in GCSE English. Candidates without a Level 2 qualification in a music-related discipline will be considered through interview.
This course provides excellent progression routes into higher education or employment.
