Course description

Sport is a large and expanding world and plays an important part in many people’s lives. This course looks at the sport industry and performance and is an ideal foundation for further study and a career in Sport.

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

This course introduces you to the world of working in the sports industry and provides a basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.

Course content

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A* to E and is taken as a full time course. The different units of work you will cover include: • The Body In Sport • Health, Safety and Injury • Practical Sport • Technical Skill and Tactical Awareness • Psychology for Sports Performance • Lifestyle and Sports Performance

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade D to get onto this course.

Assessment

The unit is entirely coursework based and you will be assessed in a variety of ways. This will include written work and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

A Merit grade in this subject can enable you to progress to an Advanced Level course.

The course will enhance your prospects of obtaining employment in the Sports Industry
