The Hair and Beauty Diploma at level 1 is an ideal qualification as an introduction into the exciting world of Hair and Beauty. This course will develop skills in both industries. It will also help to develop personal skills and qualities
essential for working in these sectors including; self confidence, customer service, personal presentation, communication.
This is a foundation level qualification and is intended to give a rounded introduction to the industry, without requiring or proving occupation competence.

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking these qualifications. However, you must have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully and you will complete an initial assessment for Maths and English and a pre course assignment to ensure this is the right qualification for you.
Both practical and theoretical assessments are needed. Practical assessments take place in the salons and treatment rooms. Theory will be assessed by producing assignments, pass, merit and distinction will available, dependant on the level of understanding shown.
Upon completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Hair and Beauty, you will be asked to choose either a hairdressing route or a beauty therapy route to progress to;
VRQ 2 Diploma Hairdressing or VRQ 2 Diploma Beauty Therapy.
How will I learn?
Students will learn practical hair and beauty skills in our state of the art salons and treatment rooms following a structured delivery using both demonstration and practice. Theory will be delivered using online resources, group work, one to one supervision and fun interactive activities.
