Further Mathematics A Level at Teesdale School

Course description

Further Mathematics is a course designed to run in combination with the A-Level Mathematics course to challenge and advance the most gifted students in order to prepare them for a science or Maths related degree at one of the country’s top universities.

Like the normal Mathematics course, students follow the Edexcel suite of examinations and are assessed by six equally-weighted module examinations: three in Year 12 and a further three in Year 13, but by the very nature of the course and the students taking it, there is flexibility in the modules available and there is no fixed route through the course. Modules to be taken are normally negotiated with students as to which are best for them and best suits their needs and interests.
