Course description

The course provides content and structures that will help you to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to work as professionals in the IT sector or to progress in to Higher Education.

  • Client Side Customisation of Web Pages
  • IT Technical Support

English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C including English Language and Maths*
  • A relevant Level 2 qualification including GCSE English Language and Maths* at grade A*-C

*If you do not have both GCSE English Language and Maths at A*-C, we may accept one of them at Grade D in addition to your 4 GCSEs at A*-C. Functional Skills may be accepted instead of GCSE English and/or Maths. Functional Skills Level 1 is equivalent to GCSE Grade D and Level 2 to GCSE Grade C.

Adults who are aged 19+ with relevant industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

Assessment

Assessment is via coursework, there are no exams to sit.

To support your application we will ask you to bring in a school report.

You may need to purchase course text books (approximately £25 each). You may have the opportunity to attend a residential visit with associated costs depending on destination.

It is recommended that you have paper, pens, calculator and a USB memory stick for transferring your work from home to College.

    • The centre houses the recently completed Salon Central, a commercial salon with 40 hairdressing stations & 32 beauty treatment beds and the College's new 1000mConstruction Centre. It also provides courses in Business and IT, ESOL, Foundation for Apprenticeships and Work, Horizons (LLDD), Health & Social Care and Science. The Centre is also the base for the College's large International provision.
