Pool lifeguards/recreation assistants need to be highly organised, enthusiastic, motivated and approachable. They must have excellent communication skills and work well in a team, with a good knowledge of health and safety within the leisure environment.

Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure Learning and well being operational services Active IQ Certificate in Leisure Operations BTEC Level 2 Award in Employment in Active Leisure and Learning HSE First Aid at Work Employer Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Promote safety in the sport and activity environment
Gain practical experience at work. You need to complete Level 1 qualification English and maths and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.
After completion of this course there is the option to progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Sport and Recreation or Leisure Management or the Level 2 Apprenticeship Team leading.
