Further Mathematics A level at Enfield County School

Course description

Further Mathematics is offered as an additional qualification to A level mathematics.  The A2/AS level courses are offered on a modular basis.  Over 2 years the following modules are offered: 

Further Pure Mathematics FP1, FP2

Mechanics M1, M2

Statistics S1, S2, S3

Decision Mathematics D1

The full A level consists of six modules (FP1, FP2, plus any four applied units).  Please note, modules taken for further mathematics are additional to those taken for mathematics.

Entry requirements

Minimum grade A in mathematics GCSE

Complete the AS further mathematics course with a grade C or above.

Future opportunities

Further mathematics prepares you for university courses and careers that are rich in mathematics.  Further mathematics is preferred for many courses, and is required by some.  Universities often offer incentives for students who have a qualification in further mathematics.
