Course description

This course provides you with a good understanding of health studies and social care combining practical, work-related study with theory. There are a variety of units including vocational practice, communication and supportive skills, human anatomy and physiology, and diet and nutrition.

Compulsory units are: • Developing e3ective communication in Health & Social care • Equality, Diversity and right in Health & Social care • Health, safety, and security in Health & Social care • Development through the life stages • Fundamentals of anatomy • Physiology for Health & Social care • Personal & professional development in Health & Social care Specialist units include: Values and planning in Social Care Caring for children and young people Safeguarding adults and promoting independence Public health Physiological Disorders Working in the health sector

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 A*-C including English and at least a merit at Level 2 BTEC
