Supported Internship Foundation Studies at Berkshire College of Agriculture

Course description

This course is suitable for students with moderate learning difficulties who are ready for the transition to work. Ideally they will have already done at least a year in Foundation Studies.

You will be at college one day a week, and in a work placement (unpaid supported employment) for two days a week. We will continue to work on your maths and English skills particularly those relevant to employment and the work place. You will also work on employability skills and skills for transition.

Entry requirements

There is no minimum requirement for entry to this course. The majority of students will have been in Foundation for at least a year, so that we have already assessed their suitability for employment. Otherwise students will be invited to attend an interview and a taster day to assess suitability for the programme.

Future opportunities

The intention is that progression is to employment. It may be possible to progress to a Level 1 or 2 Vocational programme.
