BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport outdoor adventure at The Bishop of Winchester Academy
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Outdoor Adventure) is an exciting, vocationally based course designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in future employment in the Outdoor & Leisure Industry, specialising in watersports. The course combines theory and practical activities and employer valued National Governing Body Instructor qualifications. This course is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Unit 5: Sports Coaching
Unit 12: Current Issues in Sport
Unit 23: Organising Sports Events
Unit 24: Physical Education & the Care of Children & Young People
Unit 25: Sport as a Business
Unit 33: Skills for Land-based Outdoor & Adventurous Activities
Unit 34: Skills for Water-based Outdoor & Adventurous Activities
Unit 35: Leading Land-based Outdoor & Adventurous Activities
Unit 36: Leading Water-based Outdoor & Adventurous Activities
Unit 37: Outdoor & Adventurous Expiditions
Unit 38: Alternative Pursuits for Outdoor Adventure
Standard 6th Form entry requirements. Students must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade C or above. With at least grade C in English and Maths. No prior watersports experience required, but a passion for outdoors and adventure desirable.
Careers: Employment in the Outdoors Adventure Industry. Further Education: Direct to University, Foundation Degree, further Instructor Qualifications
