Basic Plumbing Studies Diploma Level 1 at Burnley College

Course description

This course covers the practical and theoretical aspects of plumbing and the construction industry including plumbing principles, health and safety, hot and cold water supply, central heating design and installation, and basic electrical systems.

Our Construction courses are taught in our outstanding new Centre for Engineering Excellence and two new bespoke Construction buildings built in 2015, providing the most up-to-date environment possible to develop your skills in this specific trade.

All workshops are purpose built and state of the art which meet the needs of the learner and the ever changing industry. These workshops run alongside outstanding classroom and IT facilities, supporting the learner experience whilst studying at the College.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grade D or above including English Language OR successful completion of the Introduction to Construction Programme PLUS completion of an aptitude test to assess suitability for the course.

Assessment

Assessment is by practical assessments, theory knowledge checks and a practical end test.

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies.
