Physical Education Yr12/13 (Block E) at St John's Catholic Comprehensive School
This enrichment option is an opportunity for you to continue representing the school in either football (boys) or netball (girls). There will also be the opportunities to maintain a balanced, active and healthy lifestyle by participating in fitness and
sporting activities at external facilities (local leisure centre). The subject will also allow you to develop coaching/leadership skills by supporting a KS3/4 extra-curricular sports club or PE lesson.
This is a fun and practical opportunity with no entry requirements or final examinations to sit.
What you will study?
Year 12/13 Physical Education is allocated 2 lessons per week, where you will participate in a combination of the following two activities to maintain a balanced, active and healthy lifestyle:
• Extra-curricular sport (football or netball training/fixtures against others schools).
• Undertake fitness/sporting activities at local leisure facilities to maintain a balanced, health and active lifestyle.
There are no grade-related entry requirements for this course, however you must be highly motivated, have excellent attendance, and willing to represent the school at extra-curricular football & netball. There are 16 places available on the course
for both boys and girls. If oversubscribed trials may run to determine the students selected.
There is no assessment for year 12/13 Physical Education but students will be required to volunteer for 1 hour on a weekly basis to support the coaching/leading of a KS3/4 extra-curricular sports club or PE lesson. This time will be organised to not clash
with other timetabled lessons or school commitments.
