Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship (Level 3) at Worthing College

Course description

Apprentices will complete a combination of qualifications that develop competence, knowledge and skills. Example units include:-

  • Promote children and young people's positive behaviour.
  • Support learning activities.
  • Plan and deliver learning activities under the direction of a teacher.

Entry requirements

Applicants will normally have achieved a mix of a levels and/or other qualifications such as BTEC Level 3 courses. Applicants will have also normally completed English, IT and Maths GCSE at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications e.g Functional Skills Level 2). Applicants may have also completed a previous  apprenticeship at Level 2. Previous experience or peer mentoring would be desirable although not essential.

Future opportunities

Apprenticeship:

Dependent on career progression and role successful apprentices could undertake a Management apprenticeship at Level 3 or 4.

Further Education:

There are a numer of Education or Training degrees offerred at UK or overseas Higher Education Institutions.

Employment:

After successfully completing this apprenticeship you will be fully qualified to work as a Teaching or Classroom Assistant in Schools and Colleges.
