Course description

Course content

Unit 1: Tsarist Russia 1855-1917 
Unit 2: The Impact of Stalin´s Rule on the USSR 1924-1941 
Unit 3: The Making of Modern Britain 1951-2007 
Unit 4: Historical Enquiry 

Entry requirements

Grade B or above at GCSE in History recommended.

Assessment

Assessment by examination: 
Unit 1 - factual exam, 1 hour 15 mins (25% of final A-level grade)
Unit 2 - source and factual exam, 1 hour 30 mins (25% of final A-level grade)
Unit 3 - factual exam, 1 hour 30 mins (30% of final A-level grade) 

Assessment by coursework:
Unit 4 - 3,500 word historical enquiry covering 100 years on a subject of your choice (20% of final A-level grade)
