Jumpstart Programme Entry, Level 1 and Level 2 at City College Plymouth

Course description

Jumpstart is a programme to support young people in their final year/years of compulsory education. The programme aims to help you feel good about your education so that you can fulfil your earning potential, now and in the future. As well as improving your maths, English and IT skills, you will have the opportunity to try vocational subjects, such as hairdressing, beauty therapy, woodwork, painting and decorating, business studies and automotive.

Qualifications you can gain whilst on programme:

  • City and Guilds Profile of Achievement 
  • Functional Skills - maths, English and ICT
  • First Aid

if you complete a vocational area you could gain qualification from Entry level 3 up to level 2.

There are no specific entry requirements, however you must be referred by your school.

Initial and diagnostic assessment. Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT 

Future opportunities

The Personalised Learning Programme enables you to progress onto:

  • work-based learning, for example an Apprenticeship
  • employment or employment with training
  • further education courses.
