BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Production Arts at King Edward VII Science and Sport College, Coalville

Course description

6 units will be studied and are as follows:

The overall course aim is to emphasise the importance of the interrelation of design and technical elements within a performing arts project.  It encourages learners to work across production, design and tecnical disciplines such as lighting, sound, costume, setting,stage management, make-up and props.  Students will develop knowlege and practical experience of stage management, stage lighting, sound and video equipment for use in a performance situation.

 

Entry requirements

5 A* - C GCSE

Assessment

Work is assessed through work related practical and written assignments and is graded according to the BTEC system of Pass - E, Merit = C, Distinction = A and Distinction Plus = A*

Future opportunities

Career Options are: Stage Managemetn< Science Construction, Stage?Event Lighting & Sound, Theatre or Venue Administration/Management.  Entry into some of these areas can be achieved straight into employment, but can also be taken further into higher education.
