Whether it’s brickwork, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, plastering or plumbing, our industry experienced tutors will support you in moving up the career ladder, no matter what level you start at.
The College has strong links with employers such as Willmott Dixon, and our tools are state of the art, thanks to generous donations from Stanley Black and Decker. Previous students have taken part in the HOPE Strategy project; where Rotherham College teamed up with Rotherham Borough Council and charity Action Housing to help renovate derelict houses into fully functioning, modern homes for vulnerable people. There are fantastic opportunities to showcase your skills at competitions such as SkillBuild, as well as the possibility for your work to be entered for the City and Guilds Gold Awards.
This course will give you the skills to produce small items of furniture/cabinets constructed using various types of timber, veneers, associated materials, fixings and fittings.
What will I study?

•Health and safety
•Sustainability in the timber trade
•Functional Skills in maths and English (for those who have not achieved GCSE grades C or above)

•Potential students must have an interest and enthusiasm in woodworking and be keen to develop their woodworking skills

On-going assessment of practical and written work.
