Course content

Geography (Syllabus C, AQA) Geography GCSE course covers an even balance of both human and physical elements of Geography. On the course you will complete coursework that investigates the issue of wind power in the local area. This part of the course will consist of 25% of the final grade. Completing coursework is a very important part of the course and offers to increase your environmental awareness, project management skills and your organisation skills. The course covers the following subjects:- Industry                                   Map SkillsTectonics                               Managing  resourcesGlaciation                               RiversSettlement                              Population  If you are still unsure what job you eventually want to do when you leave school, Geography will open your options and is a good GCSE to take to colleges and universities.

Assessment

At present the course is assessed through a terminal exam based upon two tiers of entry and the coursework assignment. It is likely that the coursework element of the assessment will be withdrawn in the future. The higher tier covers grades A*- D.The foundation tier covers C – G grades.
