WJEC GCSE Art and Design OR

Gateway Qualifications: Level 1 Certificate In Skills for Art and Design (QCF)

Studying Art and Design will give students the opportunity to develop and broaden their practical skills, as well as explore their own 'artistic voice'. Over the year students will develop a portfolio of work and will be able to show this in our end of year exhibition. Areas for investigation may include Identity, Portraiture, Signs and Symbols, Graffiti, Abstract Art and Photoshop.Students will learn to reflect purposefully on what they have made and understand how their work relates to the broader world of Art and Design through independent research and group discussion. Since the study of Art develops so many transferable skills, as well as practical ones, the list of employment opportunities that result from this course are endless!
