CACHE Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) at Great Marlow School

Course description

The employment prospects of qualified Child Care and Education workers are good and improving. More and more parents/carers are continuing to work or are returning to work and this increases the demand for high quality child care and education. There are also opportunities for qualifies staff to become Nursery Managers or to set up their own businesses, e.g. private nurseries. You will be studying a completely new qualification that has been developed with experts in the field, such as universities and national organisations representing children and young people.

The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years or to progress onto Level 3 qualifications relating to childcare. Job roles may include nursery assistant, classroom assistant, nanny, pre-school assistant.

Theme 1 – Introducing the role of The Early Years Practitioner

Theme 2 – Legislation, Framework and Professional Practice

Theme 3 – Play, Development and Learning for School

Theme 4 – Professional Development

Additional Units

Learning how to support healthy lifestyles for children through provision of food, nutrition and exercise. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSE D Grades

DBS checks are compulsory for all who apply for these courses as they will be working with children.
