Beauty Therapy (Massage Route) Apprenticeship at Solihull College & University Centre

Course description

Working in a salon/spa/ cruise ship/own business/ further advanced beauty training/ teaching

Course content

Health and Safety; Client care and communication in Beauty related industries; Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities; Provide Indian Head Massage; Provide Body Massage; Provide stone therapy; Provide pre blended aroma massage; Optional units to be discussed with employer; Level 2 Key Skills Maths and English; Level 2 Award in Employment awareness in the Hair and Beauty Sector.

Entry requirements

To be working in a beauty salon for a minimum of 30 hours per week. To hold a full Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification.

Assessment

You will be assessed within the college commercial salons and within your own salon at work. You will have written assignments to pass and end of unit tests to complete and pass.

Other beauty therapy courses. Holistic therapies Level 3, Sports Therapy Level 3.

Further information

You will be expected to wear full salon uniform when in the college salons.

    • Woodlands Campus

      An £8.5 million expansion of our Woodlands Campus now incorporates a new state of the art specialist centre for multi-craft, bricklaying, painting and decorating, plastering, carpentry and an expanded motor vehicle training facility. A new sports pitch also enhances the existing sports facilities.

      The new Engineering and Construction facility houses twelve new workshops; six for construction and six for motor vehicle. The rooms accommodate an MOT/motor sport workshop; an engine workshop and further rooms for decorating, plastering and brickwork.

      Woodlands has purpose-built engineering workshops as well as commercial-standard hair and beauty salons. Our IT facilities, learning resource centres and library are also first-rate.

      We also offer a selection of higher education courses at our Woodlands Campus so you can continue your studies with us.

      Via Bus or Train

      The main bus terminal in north Solihull is located in Chelmsley Wood centre. The number 94, 676, 694, 71, 966 and 966A stop at the main terminal with the number 94 stopping on Auckland Drive. The nearest train stations are Marston Green or Water Orton station both located approximately 20 minutes away.
