Chemistry AS at Hayes School

Course description

AS Chemistry Module 1 (F331): Chemistry for Life Module 2 (F332): Chemistry of Natural Resources Module 3 (F333): Chemistry in Practice In the Sixth Form we offer well established courses at A level in Chemistry (Salters OCR). Throughout their time at Hayes all students will be offered a variety of trips, visits and lectures to enrich their experience of Science, together with in-school competitions, clubs and activities.

4 GCSE B grades, including B in this subject

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses such as Biology or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Chemistry, which could lead onto higher education in science related subjects or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Chemistry or one of the other sciences such as a Doctor, Nurse, Scientist or Pharmacist. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you to develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.

      Exit M25 at Junction 4 (signposted A21 Bromley & Orpington)
      Continue on A21 towards Bromley. Turn left onto A232 towards Hayes and Croydon. Turn right into West Common Road the main school entrance is on West Common Road.

      PARKING ON SITE

      Parking on site is limited and allocated to staff.
      Visitor bays are available at the entrance to the school

      BY RAIL

      We are located just up the hill from Hayes (Kent) Station (Connections from Lewisham or direct from Charing Cross). After exiting the station, walk right on Station Hill past the New Cross Inn, then walk up Ridge Way until you reach West Common Road. Turn right and walk along until you reach the school on your left.

      BY BUS

      The following buses serve the local area:
