Extended Project Qualification - A Level at Pendleton Sixth Form College

Course description

The As level  Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) enables you to explore a chosen topic of your choice in depth.  The course will prepare you well for university as it demonstrates that you have cultivated, and can demonstrate many of the skills required for a degree level study.  The course enables you to specialise in a particular area of research that interests you and helps you improve your independent learning

Course content

The advantage of this As Level is that you choose the subject. You may choose something new or something they are interested in pursuing in the future.

The subject choice is yours, but the emphasis will be on analysis and project will end up as one of the following

A dissertation (5000 words)

An artefact (plus 100 words)

A multi-media item (plus 100 words)

An experiment (plus 100 words)

Entry requirements

3 Bs/5s and 3 Cs/4s at GCSE


The course is assessed on your final submission of your project

Financial information

Full time courses are free to 16-18 year olds who are EU citizens
