Travel and Tourism Level 3 90- credit Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

Our dynamic Travel and Tourism department offers students the opportunity to study a wide range of units related to the worldwide Travel and Tourism industry . Students will have the opportunity to participate in visits, a residential trip and vocational projects. The course is particularly suited to those students who enjoy both written and practical coursework and who are looking to work in the Travel and Tourism industry or progress to a University course.

Course content

All the building blocks that you will need including; Investigating Travel and Tourism, The Business of Travel and Tourism, The UK as a Destination, Customer Service in Travel and Tourism, Preparing for Employment , European Travel Destinations, Retail Travel Operations, Entertainment for Holidaymakers, Working as a Children's Holiday Representative, and Events Conferences and Exhibitions. Come on to the Extended Diploma for a second year and study more subjects such as Long-haul Travel Destinations, Investigating the Cruise Industry, Hospitality Operations plus Specialist and Responsible Tourism and many more! All students will also study towards the Worldwide Travel Destinations qualification - essential knowledge! 

Case studies, group and individual activities and practical exercises - create your own Travel and Tourism Business or devise a holiday for a group of friends. Lessons will be engaging and full of useful information and learning opportunities. Come and join us. 

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C,including English Language & Maths. Level 2 First Diploma minimum 276 points plus English Language & Maths GCSE at C grade or above Mature students will also be considered. All applicants will be invited for interview.


Ongoing assessment . Each unit will assessed through completion of case studies, reports, practical tasks or presentations.

A £30 fee will be charged on enrolment for a Columbus Travel
Atlas. (fee correct at time of printing may be subject to change)


Future opportunities

The second year of the BTEC Travel and Tourism level 3 course and
achievement of the Extended Diploma (180 units).
