Public Services Level 2 First Extended Certificate at Chichester College

Course description

For students interested in pursuing a career in Public Services. This is an exceptional course for students who wish to develop the skills to support into a Public Service. It is specifically designed for students who are more practically minded.

Course content

You will build a portfolio of evidence to show competent progress in: * Role and work of the Public Services * Public Service Health, Fitness and Lifestyle * Public Service Working Skills * Crime & it’s Effects on Society & the Individual * Land Navigation by Map and Compass * Adventurous Activities * Employability in the Public Services* Sport & Recreation in Public Services* Citizenship, Society the Public Services If you are aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme consisting of your main qualification, English and maths, enterprise and enrichment. 

Daily lessons involve a wide variety of teaching and learning activities which range from practical lessons in the Sports Hall, Astro Pitch, Fitness Suite, Sports fields, Trim Train, Climbing Wall, Classroom and IT suite. 

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grade D including GCSE English at Grade D or above or Successful completion of the Level 1 in Public Services and GCSE English at Grade D/Level 1 Key Skills


You will be assessed both practically and academically by coursework & assignments backed up by practical assessments, discussions, adventurous activity, residential, expeditions, interviews, role play and work experience.

Future opportunities

Students gaining a Merit to NCFE Level 3 in Public Services. Students gaining Distinction and upgrade their GCSE English to a C grade to National Diploma in Public Services. Alternatively joining one of the Armed Services.
