Public Services Level 1 BTEC Diploma at Buxton & Leek College

Course description

This course is aimed at 16-19 year old students who may have an interest in working within the public services either uniformed or non-uniformed. The course will provide students with a range of employability skills and knowledge, suitable for most areas of employment. The focus will include a range of practical elements such as physical exercise, outdoor activities and teamwork activities as well as employability and job related skills. The course will help build learners confidence. Students will have the opportunity to take part in volunteering and enrichment activities that will help build their CV and make them more attractive to employers.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade D or above in English Language or we may accept learners with no prior qualifications.

Future opportunities

On completion students can progress onto the Level 2 Public Services course or any other Level 2 course.

      Our Skillsbase Training Centre, based at Harpur Hill on the outskirts of Buxton is the perfect location for motor vehicle, construction, logistics, warehousing and painting and decorating.
