Advanced Subsidiary in Spanish at Cockermouth School

Course description

In AS the course comprises of two teaching and learning modules assessed at the end of Year 12.  The students study four topics including media, popular culture, Healthy living/lifestyle and Family/relationships.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's A*-C. A minimum of B grade in Spanish at GCSE.

Assessment

Continuous assessment by teachers throughout the course with a listening, reading and writing test for Unit 1 and a speaking test for Unit 2.

Future opportunities

Commerce, industry, tourism, education, journalism, media, travel, literature, communications, finance. Having Spanish at As or A level will improve employability options, particularly with companies having international links.
