Photography BTEC Advanced Diploma Level 3 at Fareham College

Course description

This course explores a variety of approaches to the production and presentation of photographic imagery (both chemical and digital).

A stimulating combination of practical and theoretical work in traditional photography, printmaking, digital art and design, visual language and critical thinking skills, art history, 2D and 3D design and illustration.

As you progress you will be expected to specialise in an area of your choice. Areas include: photo journalism, reportage, fine art photography, advertising, video and film and commercial photography.

The course includes several study visits, with at least one residential study trip abroad.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English Language, Maths and a creative subject.


Assessment is continuous, culminating in a final major project and exhibition.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you could progress onto university or a foundation arts degree, or pursue a career in photography, photo journalism, picture editing, fashion design or graphics.
