A and AS Level ICT

The A and AS Level in ICT provides candidates with a high quality, industry-relevant qualification geared to the specific requirements of key sectors. It is a qualification that provides valuable opportunities for individuals to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding which will support entry into work or progression to further studies through Further Education or Higher Education. This qualification is typically aimed at young people aged 16-19 who are seeking a career in ICT, who wish to go on to study ICT at a higher level, or who want to study ICT to help them with their chosen career or future studies.

How will I learn?

The A and AS Level in ICT is an attractive, practically-based qualification intended to stimulate and interest candidates. The course is taught using a range of teaching styles and techniques in order to appeal to all types of learner. The college has a number of fully equipped and up-to-date ICT suites for the benefit of students.

How will I be assessed?

At AS Level there are two units and at A2 Level there are a further two units, one of which is a coursework project completed in class.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C Grades (inc English), or equivalent. An ICT qualification would be useful although not compulsory.
