ICT A2 at Queensbury School

Course description

This specification provides a suitable foundation for the study of ICT or a related area through a range of higher education courses (e.g. Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Computing) or direct entry into employment.  In addition, the specification provides a coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study for students who do not progress tofurther study in this subject.

Course content

Use and Impact of ICT - Networks, security strategies an dauditing, Moral, Social and Ethical Issues associated with the Internet, censorship, privacyand effects upon communities, Codes of Conduct, viruses and software piracy

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's grades C or above are required including a C grade in English to follow a full A Level programme.  You need tohave passed your ICT Option course at KS4 (CiDA/OCR Nationals Level 2 at Grade B or above, Merit at OCR National.

Assessment

One exam and a database project.
