Music BTEC National Award at The Rushden Community College

Course content

The course includes a number of core units including Music Performance Project and Music Performance Process. The course includes a number of specialist units taken from the following: Listening skills; Musical arranging; Composing; History and Analysis of Music; History of Popular Music; Keyboard skills; Music improvisation; Aural skills; Music performance techniques; Music theory and harmony; Singing; Live performance workshop.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE grades C or above. GCSE Music (preferably grade B upwards) or grade 5 Theory of Music.

Assessment

All units are coursework which includes some practical work and work placements. One year or two years.
