Media Studies at St Aidan's and St John Fisher's Associated Sixth Form

Course description

Most important is that the students are actually interested in the Media and its place in the world today. They need to be prepared to study all aspects of the media from advertisements and TV shows to websites and newspapers. They must be prepared to share their views and work independently. The course would be useful for those students wishing to work within the media e.g. in advertising and journalism.

AS Units:

Unit 1: Investigating Media
Unit 2: Creating Media

A2 Units:

Unit 3: Media - Critical Perspectives
Unit 4: Media - Research and Production

Entry requirements

The course would be suitable for students who have gained a grade C or above in GCSE Media Studies.

For students who did not study Media Studies at GCSE grade B or above at GCSE English Language is required.

5 GCSEs A*-C Grade
