Physics AS/A2 at Honiton Community College

Course description

Physics is concerned with answering big questions such as 'how was the universe created?' and 'what is matter made of?' Physicists have always been inventive in finding ways to model the real world and collect evidence to support their models. This course investigates models of how the world works from a traditional perspective such as Newton's Laws of motion through to some very contemporary ideas such as the phasor model to explain the interaction of photons. We will cover techniques such as false colour imaging and image enhancement. We will also look at sound processing and computer modelling of projectiles and other applications of mechanics, as well as practical activites in sensing and materials research.
