Course description

This course builds on the knowledge and skills developed on
Level 1 Automotive courses. Your technical training continues to
develop essential knowledge for service technicians working on
light vehicles and covers the theory and practical aspects of routine
vehicle maintenance, removal and replacement of engine units
and components, electrical auxiliary units and chassis units and
components.
 
Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of key
elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as team work or communication

Entry requirements

4 GCSE @ D or above including English and Maths

Assessment

Practical assessments on motor vehicles and rigs in the workshop,
on-line tests and end of topic tests.

Future opportunities

You could apply for an Advanced Apprenticeship and continue your
training whilst working.

Further information

Successful completion of this course could lead to study on the
Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair-Light Vehicle.
You could secure employment or continue your studies as an
Apprentice.
